We understand that the transition from primary to secondary school can be quite daunting and, to help familiarise girls with life at MHSG, we offer a number of open events and tours to prospective students and their parents. We also feel, however, that it is important for girls to be given the opportunity to experience the School in a less formal way and our taster events offer Year 5 girls the opportunity to familiarise themselves with Manchester High School for Girls whilst taking part in fun activities.

On Thursday 23rd May 2024, from 5.00pm to 7.00pm, we will be hosting our second Year 5 Taster Day for current year 5 students interested in joining Year 7 in September 2025.  All girls will take part in the science activity: Crime Scene Investigators – Solve the mystery, using scientific techniques to unravel the clues in our science laboratories.  In addition, girls will participate in a second activity of their choice, subject to availability. This year, the choice is between a session on our climbing wall or food technology or a street dance session in the dance studio. Please select the relevant ticket below.  All activities will be led by professional instructors/teachers.

Light refreshments will be provided for your daughter and parents are welcome to wait in our library, where Wi-Fi, newspapers and refreshments will be available.  Members of staff will also be available to answer any questions which you may have.

We are also hosting a further Year 5 Taster Event on Saturday 11th May but please note that you may only book to attend one of these events, to allow as many girls as possible to visit the school. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Admissions.

Booking a place at this event will be deemed consent to the School holding ‘personal data’ including ‘sensitive personal data’ such as medical information you supply in relation to the event.  This will be destroyed after the event in line with data regulations.
